USA TODAY American Dream is open — at least part of it. Here's what's ...

Visitors finally took their first steps inside the American Dream mall on Friday. The mall, located by MetLife stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey, was once called “the ugliest damn building in New Jersey and maybe America,” by former New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie. Construction has been on and off for several years, after hitting several road blocks in everything from funding to lawsuits from the NFL. More than 17 years later, CNBC got a peek inside the partially opened center. (Only the ice rink and Nickelodeon theme park are open as of now.) An estimated 2,500 people visited the mall on Friday, according to an American Dream press release. They waited in long lines for everything from food to rides — and to take their pictures with characters like Spongebob. On Friday, some parking spots we saw cost up to $45. On its website, American Dream lists parking prices listed for $3-$24. Phil Murphy, the governor of New Jersey , called the first phase opening a “grea

Adele sported a new look at Drake's birthday party and it was fire

The singer partied with one of her favorite artists, rapper Drake , at his 33rd birthday party and people noticed her new look. Adele was looking decidedly more svelte and wearing a black, off-the-shoulder gown, cinched with a jeweled belt -- all the better to show off her small waist, which sent Twitter into a spin. "Adele is skinny and gorgeous omg," one person tweeted. There were also plenty of theories that her new look is her "revenge body," given that she announced in April that she split from her husband, Simon Konecki. And where there is heartbreak there are usually also hits for the singer, so there was plenty of speculation about when that new music is coming. ".@Adele with the skinny revenge body," one tweet read. "she about to flame her ex. the heat is coming. we ready sis!" For her part, Adele gave us a hint as to how she's transformed in the birthday message for Drake she shared on her official Instagram a

Everything You Need to Know About Tati Westbrook's New Beauty Line

The Textured Neutrals Volume 1 palette, which already has a glowing review from YouTuber and fellow beauty guru Manny Mua , has 24 shades which include matte, metallic, glitter, and sequin finishes. The palette has a gorgeous warm array of shades, including nudes, silvers, oranges, reds, and pinks. The coolest part about the palette is that it's designed to go with different skin tones and moods. There are six "themes": Memory , Ritual, Story, Soothe, Aura, and Poet. Manny Mua, who demonstrates swatches of the shades, describes them as very "creamy." As you can tell from the video, the shades are highly pigmented — a little goes a long way. Manny is able to blend the shades, easily creating a beautiful monochromatic look. You can check out other reviews from now. The inevitable has happened: beauty blogger Tati Westbrook has launched her own makeup line, dropping today. Tati Beauty has been a year in the making and marks her first namesake beauty brand

Elijah Cummings funeral: ‘It now falls on us to continue his work.’

BALTIMORE — In a vast church sanctuary filled with powerful people,   Elijah Eugene Cummings was remembered Friday as a man who strove to protect American democracy but still made time to cherish his daughters , attend 7:15 a.m. Sunday worship each week and stop on the side of the road to help a motorist change a tire. For nearly four hours, 4,000 people, including two former U.S. presidents, mourned the longtime Democratic lawmaker, the son of sharecroppers who rose from South Baltimore to Congress. “Elijah Cummings was a man of noble and good heart ,” said former president Barack Obama, who sat in the front row of New Psalmist Baptist Church with Maya Rockeymoore Cummings, the congressman’s widow; Bill and Hillary Clinton; and former vice president Joe Biden, a 2020 presidential candidate. “And it now falls on us to continue his work.” The service — sometimes joyous, sometimes solemn and sometimes funny — offered up a noble vision of public service, in which ele

Eddie Murphy Plans to Revive His Favorite Characters When He Hosts SNL

A special screening of Netflix’s  Dolemite Is My Name  for Academy voters and VIPs like  Andre Leon Talley, Tracy Morgan  (wearing a black-and-green sweater featuring a designer spin on Mickey Mouse), and  Jeff Ross  just brought the house down at the Landmark at 57 West, a relatively new theater attached to the stylish Greek restaurant Ousia. Outside a group of Gen Z-ers were flipping out, pointing and holding their phones showing pictures of Murphy, the comedy legend who’s not only in the midst of a big comeback , but poised for his second Oscar nomination for his performance as ’ 70s singer , comedian, and actor Rudy Ray Moore. The  Dolemite  party was technically all about Murphy, but it might have been even more for the fans—both the voters inside itching for selfies and the kids out front, who eventually got a wave from Murphy himself. Everybody loves Eddie Murphy; everyone is thrilled he’s making funny movies again; and the packed, dimly lit after-party was a cacophony o
